Problem Statement
Toronto Metropolitan University announced its name change. As Ryerson Global Management Group (RGMG) was not a suitable name anymore, the student group decided to rename the group to the Global Management Students’ Association (GMSA). With this name change, the student group needed a new logo and digital assets.
Rebranding Process
After Toronto Metropolitan University announced its name change, I was tasked to rebrand the student group as the Vice President of Creative. This included a new logo and all accompanying assets such as event badges, banners and wrap-arounds. I was also tasked to collaborate with the Vice President of Marketing to create social media posts announcing the name change.

Iterations
As with any logo design, I created 4 different iterations of possible logos and gave them to the creative team to narrow it down to 2 options. We needed to include the silhouette of the globe on the logo to represent the reason why this student group exists- to represent the Global Management major at the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM).
Colour Palette
While GMSA has its distinctive colours, the shades of teal and grey were not consistent in their social media posts.
Logo Variations
There are three logo variations for the GMSA logo. One includes the group’s name in full, shortened and a white version. More variations will be made based on the needs of sponsors/required digital assets.
Typography
In addition to lacking a diverse range of colours, the student group also lacked a uniform set of fonts for their graphics. To address this, I selected a sans-serif font that closely resembled the logo, making it well-suited for both the title and subheadings. As a complementary choice, Proxima Cova Condensed was utilized as the secondary font.
